SAN ANTONIO — A man was found fatally shot on the southeast side of town late Saturday night, police say.
San Antonio Police responded to the 4000 block of East Southcross Boulevard around 10:48 p.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.
When officers arrived, they found the 60-year-old victim with a gunshot wound on the floor of a apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as Darryl Glynn Byrd, 60.
A witness told police they did not see the victim being shot.
Police say they received multiple tips about the murder which ultimately led to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect, Steve Gonzales Rocco, 65, was later arrested by police and charged with murder.
