Man hit by car while trying to cross street on northwest side, police say

San Antonio police responded to an accident on Babcock Road just after midnight.
The man was struck on Babcock Road.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a car on the northwest side Friday morning, San Antonio police said. 

Authorities responded to an accident on Babcock Road and Medical Drive just after midnight. 

According to police, a man in his 20s was running across the street when a sedan clipped him and sent him into the car's windshield.

The man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. The driver was not injured in the accident. 

Police said the driver did not see the man. Officers do not suspect alcohol played a role in the incident. 

No charges are expected.
