SAN ANTONIO — One man has been arrested after allegedly shooting another man multiple times in the upper body killing him, according to SAPD.
An SAPD spokesperson said officers responded to a disturbance near Lamar Street and Austin Street, northeast of downtown.
Witnesses told police the suspect, believed to be in his mid 30s, was chasing the victim before he caught him, shooting him three to four times in the upper body.
The 35-year-old victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died. Sergeant Howard said the suspect did not stop to render aid to the victim before emergency crews arrived at the scene.
On May 24 police were able to identify the suspect from a verifiable Crime Stoppers tip. The suspect was observed at a local gas station and was detained without incident, according to San Antonio Police.
Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect identified as Jose Milton Alejo and charge him with murder, police say. The suspect has been arrested.
