Man injured after shot in drive-by shooting on east side

Police say he was sitting in his car when a suspect in another vehicle drove up and open fired on him, hitting him on his thumb.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was injured in what police are saying was a drive-by shooting on the east side of town early Wednesday morning.

San Antonio Police responded to the 500 block of Corliss at Badger Street around 1:38 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

Police say that the victim, 64, was sitting in his car getting some things together to go inside when a suspect in a vehicle drove up and fired multiple shots, hitting two vehicles and injuring the man in his thumb. 

He was treated at the scene by EMS. The victim’s vehicle was found with numerous apparent bullet holes.

Police did not provide a description of the suspect or the vehicle he was driving.

No other injuries were reported.

This is an ongoing investigation.
