SAN ANTONIO — Police believe that speed was a factor in a crash that killed a man early Sunday morning on the west side of town.
San Antonio Police responded to the 3700 block of Highway 90 around 1:30 a.m. for reports of an accident.
When officers arrived at the location, they found a driver critically injured in a 2024 white Toyota Camry. Officials say the driver was traveling east on Highway 90 at a high rate of speed when he collided with an impact attenuator, also known as a crash cushion, that is used to divide main lanes of the highway with the exit ramp.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
No other injuries were reported.
This is a developing story.
