Man shot in face after entering northeast-side home, SAPD says

The victim, a man in his 20s, is in critical condition.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot in the face after entering a home on the far northeast side of town early Wednesday morning, police say.

San Antonio Police responded to the 2500 block of Indian Forest near Binz Engleman Road around 2:12 a.m. for reports of a disturbance call.

Police arrived and saw a man walking out from the backyard, up to the front door and putting a code into the keypad to get inside. When the man entered the house, he was stopped and asked what he was doing, according to police. The man continued up the stairs, and when he got to the top he was shot by another man in the face.

The man who pulled the trigger handed the gun to police and was detained for questioning by detectives. Police said no arrests have been made at this time and the two men knew each other.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to BAMC in critical condition.

Initially, police say the victim had a child inside the house but could not later confirm the information.

Detectives are investigating.

This is a developing story.
