Man shot in the face following argument, police say

Police have a man they believe to be the suspect in custody.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was found shot in the face following what police say was an argument with two other people on the west side of town overnight.

San Antonio Police responded to the 5600 block of Culebra Road near Callaghan Road just after 2 a.m. Sunday for reports of a shooting in progress.

When officers arrived at the Westway apartments, they found a man who had been shot in the face. Police say that there was an argument between three people, two men and one woman and that during the disturbance, one of the men pulled out a weapon and shot the other man in the face.

Officers said they saw a vehicle speeding away from the location when they first arrived. SAPD followed that vehicle and apprehended the driver, who they believe is the suspect.

The victim was taken to University Hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

This is a developing story.
