Police are still looking for the two suspects.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot in the leg by two suspects he found breaking into his car after he exchanged gunfire with them, police say.

It happened around 11:05 p.m. Saturday night on the 2900 block of Roosevelt Avenue near E Southcross on the southside.

Police say two men, possibly in their late teens or early 20s, were breaking into multiple vehicles when the victim caught the pair of burglars breaking into his car.

He pulled out a gun and exchanged shots with them. They ran off afterwards.

The victim, in his 30s, was hit once in the leg and taken to University Hospital for his injury.

He is in stable condition.

Police say they are looking for the two suspects who they say fled on foot before getting into a dark colored sedan and driving away.

No other injuries were reported.
