Man shot in stomach outside home after argument with driver of passing car, police say

The suspect or suspects in the black vehicle only fired a single shot and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot right outside his west-side home after getting into an argument with someone in a passing car, according to police.

San Antonio Police were called out to the 3500 block of El Paso Street near Castroville Road just before 9 p.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.

When officers arrived they found a gunshot victim with a single wound to his stomach. The 53-year-old victim was taken to the University Hospital and is expected to recover.

Police say that two men were working on a vehicle outside their west-side home when a black vehicle pulled up to them and some sort of verbal altercation took place.

The suspect or suspects in the black vehicle only fired a single shot and fled the scene prior to police arrival. Police say the victim says he did not know the people inside the black car.

The case remains under investigation.
