SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot and killed late last night after an altercation at a west-side apartment complex, police say.
San Antonio Police responded to the Villas on Springvale apartments located on Highway 90 around 9:48 p.m. Friday for reports of a shooting in progress.
When officers arrived, they found the 44-year-old victim, identified as John Carranza, with a fatal gunshot wound.
Witensses told police that a group of people were at the apartments for some sort of gathering when an altercation took place, and a suspect pulled out a weapon and shot another man.
The suspect fled the scene after the shooting, but police are not sure if he drove away or ran off on foot.
Police later conducted a traffic stop and arrested Kevin Jacob Rodriguez, 23, who had an active warrant out of Bexar County for Carranza's murder.
Carranza was taken into custody without incident and booked in the Bexar County jail.
This is a developing story.
