SAPD: Man stabbed after argument escalates into chase at northeast-side motel

Police say while drinking two men started to argue, resulting in a foot chase. One of the men was stabbed and taken to the hospital in stable condition.

SAN ANTONIO — A 31-year-old man has been stabbed after an argument leads to a chase at a northeast-side motel, authorities say.

According to police, two men were hanging out drinking near the Sands Motel located at 1000 Austin Hwy. Friday night at 11:25 p.m.

At some point, police say an argument happened, and both men pulled out knives. One of them decided not to fight and ran off, causing the other man to chase behind him.

During the chase, police say the victim and suspect collided after going around a tree. The victim then noticed he had been stabbed in the hip area. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

No other injuries were reported and the suspect, who is in his early 60s, has been detained.
