Here she is Miss Park Cities, Monique Evans, is the new Miss Texas.
According to her Facebook page, Evans attends the University of Texas in Austin as a pre-med student.
She is also a professionally trained ballerina.
The first runner-up at Saturday's Miss Texas Pageant in Richardson was Miss Plano, Christine Tang.
The pageant wrapped up a week of events for the contestants from across Texas. Evans will represent the Lone Star State at the Miss America competition in Atlantic City. The finals will be broadcast live on WFAA Channel 8 on September 14.
