'We have a large scale area' | Search intensifies for missing SA man last seen nearly three months ago

Local nonprofit, Search and Rescue San Antonio is conducting the search and is currently looking for volunteers.

SAN ANTONIO — The family of 26-year-old Jorge Perales continues searching for answers into his disappearance.

It's been nearly three months since anyone has spoken to him.

Search and Rescue San Antonio Texas helps families find missing loved ones. Next weekend they will be helping the Perales family, searching an area detectives say could be critical in this case.

"We have a large scale area. It's about nine miles in length, but it's each mile is about 70 acres," said Nina Glass, director of Search and Rescue San Antonio Texas.

Glass says on the morning of Saturday, November 26 they will focus their search for Perales in an area off I-37 South near a rest area in Three Rivers.

"We're going off information given to us by the detectives and the people in charge and we are just they're in desperate need of us searching that area. They don't have the manpower," said Glass.

Glass says there is digital evidence of Perales being in that area.

The last contact anyone had with Perales was by phone on the night of August 21, just before 10 p.m. 45 minutes later his car was captured on video leaving his home.

"We don't know who was in it, and there was another car following it," said Glass.

Glass says Perales' 2012 Nissan Sentra with the license plate SSS6443 has not been seen or spotted by license plate readers.

Perales' mother Ana Lilia Perales says the past three months has been difficult for the entire family.

"We are heartbroken, sad. There is a distress in our home not knowing what happened to him," said Ana Lilia Perales.

Ana Lilia says she has been relying on her faith to get her through this difficult time, praying Jorge will be found and reunited with his family.

“We are waiting for him, we love and care for him and I will not stop looking for him. I will not lose the faith, I’ll continue searching for you my son," said Ana Lilia

Glass and Ana Lilia say they would be thankful for any help.

"We're in need of anybody who can go through the acreage with us, who can volunteer an hour or two hours, three hours, four hours. We're also in need of water, ice, snacks, Gatorade, things like that for the volunteers for that day," said Glass.

If you know anything about the case you should contact the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at 210-335-6000.
