HOUSTON — Family members of a man who’s been missing from a Galleria-area home since June are fearing the worst.
Robert Bond, 40, had been living in the home on Sage Road until he disappeared over the summer. He was supposed to meet up with his family in June, but never showed up.
On Thursday, months later, Houston police served a warrant on Bond’s home and were seen bringing out guns from inside.
His family is worried he’s dead.
“Robert never called us,” said Robert’s sister, Rose Bond. “Nobody ever heard from him again.”
It’s been almost three months since Rose has heard from Robert. And the last time they were together was in the spring.
“He lived a lifestyle that was different than us,” said Rose. “He was into drugs. They were into drugs.”
In May, Rose said her brother moved into the townhome on Sage with two roommates. The townhome backs up to Buffalo Bayou.
In June, her brother told her there had been an argument among the roommates and he was being accused of theft.
When nobody heard from Robert, Rose says she called one of the roommates.
“She said that there was an altercation and my brother had left the residence walking,” she said.
At the home on Thursday, Houston police said they served a search warrant related to the missing persons case.
“During that search warrant, two people were taken into custody for possession of narcotics,” said HPD Lt. Larry Crowson.
Houston police won’t say if they found any evidence inside of the home, however we did see them removing guns from the home. Also at the home on Thursday – vehicles from the medical examiner’s office.
“I don’t know what happened, but I don’t think he left there walking,” Rose said.
Rose said she and her family are already prepared for the worst.
“We want to know where the body is,” she said. “We want the body. We want to lay my brother to rest. I want to know what happened. Was he scared? Was it a long, drawn-out process?”
The two people who police say were arrested on Thursday haven’t been identified.
If you have any information about what may have happened, you’re asked to call police.
