SAN ANTONIO — The family of a San Antonio man says he went for a walk on a northwest side trail on August 24 and was never heard from again.

Moody Arteaga's family says they just want him back home.

A photo taken from a neighbors home surveillance camera is the last time anyone has seen the 37-year-old.

Arteaga's family says he went for a walk on the Leon Creek Greenway trail system just like he always does.

“When he would leave and go on his little adventure, he always made sure to call one of his sisters or his brother. So this isn't like him," said April Hernandez, Moody's niece.

Days after Arteaga went missing, his family decided to search the trails and found a pile of his clothes including his shoes and snacks he likes to eat.

“Our hearts just broke like to see his clothes there and shoes," said Hernandez.

The family says San Antonio Police did come out and search the area but were not able to find anything else.

Arteaga's family says without answers it's been a stressful time and an emotional roller coaster.

"His sisters, they can't sleep. I mean, we're losing sleep. We're out here every day searching for him. We don't we don't know what else to do," said Hernandez.

Arteaga is described as 5' 2" weighing around 168 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. His family says he is a loving person.

“He cares about everyone. On his free time, he will go out and clean the community. He will feed the homeless," said Hernandez.

The family says authorities have asked them to provide DNA samples but they have not received any results. They are hoping by sharing his story, someone out there watching can give them some answers.

“We love him. Please come home. Give us a call. If you don't want to come home, at least call us, and let us know you're okay," said Hernandez.

If you know anything about Arteaga's whereabouts, you are urged to contact the San Antonio Police Missing Persons Unit at 210-207-7660.
