SAN ANTONIO — The voice of Pauline Diaz has been brought back to life through the use of AI technology.
Diaz went missing from a southeast side H-E-B back in December of 2010.
Her family is still searching for her and now, they are using new technology to help find her.
“Hello my name is Pauline Cantu Diaz, and I have been missing for 13 long years,” said the AI generated image of Pauline Diaz.
On Wednesday, Pauline would have celebrated her 78th birthday. Even though she has been missing 13 long years, her family hasn't given up hope of finding her.
The AI clip is accessible through a QR code. The clip was created with the help from the local nonprofit Search & Support San Antonio, and the words spoken by Diaz were approved by her family.
Pauline vanished after her shift at an H-E-B on Southeast Military Drive. Prior to her disappearance, she was in the process of filing for divorce from her estranged husband.
At some point, Diaz's former husband was named as a person of interest, but no arrests have been made in the case. Diaz's daughters, Pauline and Juanita, are hoping the new technology will bring them some closure.
"I hope it touches people heart(s), that if they do know what happened to her, they would come out and help her, because she is asking for help," said Juanita Diaz.
"That's what we want to do, keep up with the times, and take a life of it's own and see how far it can go," said Paula Martinez.
There is a $25,000 reward for information in Diaz's Case. If you have any information, you are urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff's Office or Search and Support San Antonio.
