SAN ANTONIO — A 5-year-old San Antonio girl is in stable condition days after she was run over by a driver trying to beat oncoming traffic at a light. The child's mother and her 3-year-old brother were also hit and sustained injuries.
Police say the driver immediately stopped after the collision at Jackson Keller and Green Meadow on the afternoon of Feb. 21, and backed up in order to free the girl. All three family members were taken to a local hospital were the girl was briefly listed in critical condition.
Police say the unidentified driver didn't see the family because they were "watching the vehicle traffic approaching." They aren't expected to be charged as of now, according to authorities.
