SAN ANTONIO — The suspect in the murder of a former local TV account executive will stand trial in August, family members of the victim said Friday.
20-year-old Sebastian Hernandez was arrested for murder in the death of Christopher Olivares, 40, in June of 2022.
Olivares was stabbed to death at his south-side home back in September of 2021. Police said Hernandez's DNA was found on the murder weapon. They also said detective believe Hernandez fled the scene in Olivares' white Lexus, which was found burned days later outside the city limits.
Olivarez worked at News 4 and Fox 29 as an account executive from 2012 to 2016, according to those stations.
Friday, family members told KENS 5 that jury selection in his trial is set for August 5. The trial itself is set to start on August 6.
