SAN ANTONIO — The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) released a new age progression image of Lina Sardar Khil.
She went missing on Dec, 20, 2021, at the age of three outside her family’s northwest-side apartment complex. The image shows what she would look like now at the age of six.
Pamela Allen has been the family’s advocate throughout the search for Lina. She runs a non-profit, Eagles Flight Advocacy & Outreach. She said NCMEC reached out to her about the new image so she could get the family’s approval.
“It’s a step in the right direction,” Allen said.
Allen said the family did not hesitate to approve the image. It is now being shared across different platforms.
“When they see an age progression photo, it helps them to continue that hope,” Allen said.
Just last month, in February, San Antonio police followed up on a tip from an inmate. They claimed Lina was buried in a field behind an apartment complex near Wurzbach and Bluemel. It was about a half mile away from where Lina was last seen.
“It was hard to watch and it was hard sitting next to the dad and during our searches when it first happened, all of those feelings came back because it was always such a scary notion that we would find Lina’s remains,” Allen said.
Ultimately, investigators determined the tip was not credible.
Since then, the family has been pushing for answers and hopeful Lina is alive.
Most recently, Lina was featured in a docuseries highlighting missing persons cases on Paramount+.
“They believe someone knows something and they hope and pray that whoever that person is will have the courage to come forward and give them information about their daughter,” Allen said. “They miss her, they love her and most of all, they want to hold her again.”
