SAN ANTONIO -- The DWI arrest report for Brackenridge High School Principal Moises Ortiz states that Ortiz started cheering for the Eagles while talking with the police officer before he was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Ortiz was arrested Feb. 13 after he was pulled over for running a red light on the southbound U.S. 281 access road at St. Mary's Street, according to the report. The officer wrote that Ortiz smelled of intoxicants.
After asking Ortiz about where he had been that night and what he had been doing, Ortiz started cheering for the Eagles.
[Ortiz] stated, 'Brackenridge, go Eagles, fighting Eagles, I'm so sorry,' the officer wrote in the report about the answer received when he asked Ortiz where he worked.
The police report also stated that Ortiz told the officer he had been at the Quarry area that night and at Jim's off Broadway and Hildebrand. He also told the officer he had been at a life coaching event earlier in the night.
A spokesperson for the San Antonio Independent School District told KENS 5 in February a review is underway for Ortiz. Calls for an update on the review were not immediately returned.
Ortiz failed parts of the field sobriety test and refused a breath test, according to the report.
Officers got a warrant to administer a blood test. The report also indicated Ortiz had an expired registration from 2011 and had not updated his driver's license with his new address.
