SAN ANTONIO — A north-side home is a total loss after fire ripped through early Monday morning, SAFD says.
Firefighters say the flames were so intense, the neighbors house also caught fire.
One home was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived to the 1400 block of Viewridge Drive, near Jackson Keller Road, around 2:15 a.m.
Officials say the fire involved two homes on the block and the home where it began is a total loss. The blaze damaged a neighboring home's garage. A neighbor is grateful no one was hurt.
“What you cannot replace is human life,” they said.
Officials didn’t find anyone inside and the utilities were shut off, but there was a car in the driveway and signs out front. It did take firefighters several hours to put out the flames and they still haven’t figured out how it started.
As for the neighbors house, it only suffered some damage from the heat and flames. Officials estimate the damages to the neighbor's home to be around $20,000.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt in this fire.
