SAN ANTONIO — Northside Independent School District confirmed Thursday that a high school student was arrested and now faces charges for allegedly bringing a handgun on campus.
District officials said in a statement that they received an anonymous tip this afternoon that a student at Stevens High School might be in possession of a weapon.
Campus officers and administration were able to locate and detain the student without incident.
Officials said during a search, the student was found to be in possession of a handgun which was then confiscated by NISD police.
There were no reports of any threats made toward the school or individuals, according to district officials. The student was arrested by NISD police and faces criminal charges.
