SAN ANTONIO — Officials are investigating what sparked a fire at an antique store just north of town early Wednesday morning.
San Antonio firefighters responded to the 500 block of West Hildebrand Avenue near San Pedro Avenue around 1:23 a.m. for reports of a fire.
When first responders arrived at the location, they saw heavy smoke coming from the backside of the store. The fire was on the outside in the back of the structure.
They were able to quickly extinguish the fire before it caused too much damage. Officials say there was no fire inside the building, just smoke damage. They estimate the damages to be around $5,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
No injuries were reported.
This is a developing story.
