SAN ANTONIO — Officials say a fire at an abandoned CPS facility may have been started by a homeless person just trying to stay warm.
San Antonio firefighters responded to the 300 block of Mission Road near Roosevelt Park around 9:38 p.m. Sunday for reports of a fire.
When SAFD arrived at the abandoned CPS facility, they found heavy smoke coming from the buidling. Officials say the fire was started by a homeless person just trying to stay warm, but the fire got out of control.
That person was not in the building when firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters say the structure was not damged by the fire, only some contents inside the building.
This is a developing story.
