'Good chance of recovering Suzanne' | Police feel they are close to finding missing Olmos Park mom as search continues

Multiple law enforcement agencies resumed their search at a landfill in east Bexar County Tuesday morning.

SAN ANTONIO — The search for Olmos Park mother and relator Suzanne Simpson continues into its second week Tuesday morning.

Multiple law enforcement agencies including Texas DPS, the Texas Rangers, Olmos Park police and San Antonio police resumed their search at a landfill in east Bexar County. Officials have not said what specific evidence lead them to the location. This is the third location law enforcement has searched after looking near her home in Olmos Park and in Boerne.

The Olmos Park Police Department released a statement to residents explaining the situation, how the investigation is quickly progressing and how they plan to support the community in the coming days.

To OLMOS PARK RESIDENTS:

Today, the OPPD Police Department continued investigating the case of Suzanne Clark Simpson. The Simpson family has been very helpful and supportive, even when they are the ones in need of support and understanding at this time. The OPPD met with family members to discuss the stage of the investigation we are in—a search stage. The search will be at a SE side landfill. We feel confident there is a good chance of recovering Suzanne at that location. Evidence, statements, and solid police investigation has led us there. This would not be possible without the help of many other LE agencies and some non LE agencies. However, the Texas Rangers and the DPS are at the forefront of this investigation and the OPPD is working side by side with them. We ask that you pray and wish well for the family in the coming days. The search begins tomorrow. We feel the community support and most of all the family’s support, and we will do our very best to help the family and our incredible community. Goodnight.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said the Olmos Park Police Chief asked for help searching for Simpson. McManus said 25 cadets are assisting with that search. The cadets were briefed on what to look for at the location.

Suzanne's husband, Brad Simpson has been charged with assaulting her before she went missing. His hearing for bond was initially scheduled early this week, but it has since been postponed to a later date. Authorities have not directly connected him to the disappearance of his wife.
