PEARLAND, Texas — UPDATE: The Pearland police posted to Facebook early Monday morning that Rony, the K9 officer that had been missing was found and was in good health.

The Pearland Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find a missing K9 officer.
On Sunday afternoon, police posted to social media that K9 officer Rony, a Dutch Shepherd, is missing. The post said Rony is missing from his home in the Lakes of Savannah neighborhood, which is west of Old Airline Road and north of Highway 6. Scroll down for a map of the area.
According to police, Rony was wearing a large padded modular collar that didn’t have his name on it. They believe he's been missing since between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
As of 9:45 p.m. Sunday, police said Rony hadn't been located. They said they were sent a picture of Rony behind the Chevron at Magnolia and Kingsley, which was taken at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Police are asking anyone who's in Pearland and surrounding areas to keep an eye out for Rony. If you do see him, they said not to try to catch or approach him. Instead, if you see him or have information on where he may be, you’re asked to call the Pearland Police Department at 281-997-4100.
