SAPD: Man pronounced dead after being hit by vehicle on Old Highway 90

Police say the 57-year-old man was crossing the intersection when he was hit and killed.

SAN ANTONIO — A pedestrian is now dead after a west-side crash Thursday morning, the San Antonio Police Department said.

The victim, identified as 57-year-old Jesus Islas Pantoja, was crossing the intersection of Old Highway 90 and SW 34th at about 1:14 a.m. According to police, there was no crosswalk present. While crossing, Pantoja was hit by a silver suburban.

The driver of the suburban stopped to render aid, but the man was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

The driver is not facing charges and the crash remains still under investigation.
