Pedestrian dies after being struck multiple times Saturday night, police say

The driver of the second vehicle to hit the victim stopped and remained on the scene and cooperated with police.

SAN ANTONIO — A pedestrian was struck and killed by an unknown driver Saturday night, according to police.

It happened around 8:45 p.m. in the 5000 block of Fredericksburg Road near I-10.

Police say the victim was in one of the lanes of traffic when they were hit by a driver in a Jeep. That driver did stop and remain at the scene and cooperated with police. 

Officials say that several parts from an unknown vehicle were also found at the crash indicating that the victim may have been struck more than once. The driver of the first vehicle that him the victim did not stop.

The victim was taken to a local hospital by EMS with life-threatening injuries. They were pronounced deceased at the hospital. Their identity has not yet been released.

When located, the driver of the unknown vehicle that initially struck the victim will face a charge of Collision Involving -Death.
