Three suspects, all under 20 years old, in custody after man was found shot in the head in northeast San Antonio

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

SAN ANTONIO — Three suspects – all 19 years old or younger – are in custody after law enforcement found a man shot in the head Tuesday afternoon on the northeast side.

Deputies said they arrived at the location on the 5100 block of North Foster Road where they discovered the victim, an unidentified 18-year old, shot outside a white sedan with visible bullet holes at Montabella Pointe Apartments. The victim didn't appear to be breathing, and deputies administered CPR before he was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, a little over eight miles away, St. Philip's College was on lockdown status for a few hours as San Antonio police searched the area of South Grimes and Martin Luther King Drive, where it was believed the shooters abandoned their stolen car and fled into a home. The trio of suspects eventually exited the home and were taken into custody; they face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The 16-year-old, whose identity hasn't been released due to his age, was ordered detained and is set to return to court July 11. The other suspects are 19-year-old Carmelo Converse and 17-year-old Javion Rangel.

Police are still investigating what happened leading up to the shooting on North Foster.
