Police investigating murder-suicide at north-side apartment complex

SAPD is now reporting there was a murder-suicide at the Dwell at Legacy Apartment complex earlier Sunday.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police have identified the two people dead after what authorities called a murder-suicide that unfolded at a north-side apartment complex Sunday.

Law enforcement responded to the Dwell at Legacy Apartment complex off East Sonterra Boulevard Sunday afternoon. Investigators said they initially got a call around 9 a.m. to conduct a "high-risk" welfare check off Jones Maltersberger Road, where 30-year-old Tevin Hall lived. Once investigators discovered Hall was not at that location, they made their way to the apartment complex.

SWAT members were called out and treated the situation as a standoff. Witnesses described hearing a loud banging noise and seeing a drone go inside the apartment, where they believed Hall was.

A spokesperson for SAPD said they eventually made their way inside the apartment where they discovered Hall and 28-year-old Kenya Bland dead. The spokesperson did not say how they knew each other, but neighbors claim they were in a relationship.

Some evacuations took place during the standoff, but no one else was hurt. One woman who wanted to remain anonymous told KENS 5 she was scared when she came outside Sunday afternoon to a heavy police presence.

“It’s a little traumatizing just to see San Antonio police, the SWAT team, it was just crazy," she said.
