Police investigating shooting in Schertz after two people injured

Police Chief Jim Lowery says that this incident does not appear to be a random act and, more specifically, the victims were targeted.

SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating a shooting in Schertz on Sunday that injured two people that happened outside of a home on Columbia drive, not far from Interstate-35.

The victims were found inside of a car that had been shot up.

Schertz Police did not say how bad their injuries were, just saying they were injured to some extent from gunfire, and the police chief say this does appear to be targeted.

Police responded to Columbia Drive around 2:45 a.m. for reports of a disturbance.

That’s where investigators found a car with multiple bullet holes in it. A total of four people were inside but only two were injured.

During their investigation, officers realized the incident started over on Covers Cove, which is about two minutes away and appears to be in the same neighborhood.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing.

Any with information is asked to call schertz police at (210) 619-1200.
