Police say a van failed to yield entering highway on wet roads, causing 18-wheeler to roll over

Both vehicles ended up in the grassy median.

VON ORMY, Texas — Wet roads may be to blame for a major accident involving a big rig early Wednesday morning, police say.

It happened after storms rolled through on I-35 and Fischer Road in Von Ormy around midnight just outside of Loop 410 in southwest Bexar County.

Police say the 18-wheeler truck was traveling on the highway when a man driving a van failed to yield while entering the highway, causing the big rig to rollover.

Police say that failure to yield, on top of wet road conditions, caused both vehicles to slide off the road and onto the access road where there is a grassy median area.

Police say the driver of the van was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured.

This is a developing story.
