Police say stabbing victim initially 'not cooperating'

Officers had trouble finding the crime scene at first, and they do not have a suspect description at this time.

SAN ANTONIO — A man who was found stabbed in the arm on the west side apparently initially wasn't giving police much help, officials say.

San Antonio Police officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Menchaca around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday to find a 42-year-old man with a stab wound to his left arm.

Based on information gathered by officers at the scene, the victim was sitting on a bench near Hamilton and Poplar when the suspect grabbed his stuff off the bench. The victim told officers he tried to get his stuff back and punched the suspect in the face. More punches were exchanged between the two and the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in his arm, then ran off.

Police say the man was not cooperative at first and they do not have a suspect description at this time.

The victim was taken to University Hospital and is expected to be okay.
