SAN ANTONIO — Police are searching for a man accused of trying to drive away after a traffic stop, and dragging two officers while speeding away.
San Antonio Police responded to the intersection of Pecan Valley Drive at Sargent Street on the east side of town around 11:40 p.m. for reports of an incident during a routine traffic stop.
The two officers pulled over a couple near that intersection and asked them to get out of the car because they were going to be taken into custody.
That's when the man broke away from officers, jumped into the driver's seat of the car and tried to take off. Police say the officers tried to stop the man from driving off, but were instead dragged at least 10 yards.
Police say the officers were not seriously injured, walking away with minor road rash injuries.
Officers tried to find the suspect but weren't successful. The woman was detained by officers for further questioning. It's unclear what charges the couple was facing when they were first pulled over.
That suspect when caught will be facing multiple charges.
