Police searching for suspect who started fire at local motel

A few people had to evacuate rooms while firefighters worked to contain the fire.

SAN ANTONIO — The search is on for a person police say started a fire at a local hotel.

Leon Valley Police say it happened at the Econo Lodge on Wurzbach Road just after 2 a.m. Monday morning.

Fire officials say someone lit a fire in one of the rooms and left the area.

A few people had to evacuate rooms while firefighters worked to contain the fire. Thankfully they were able to put it out fast and no injuries were reported. 

Right now police say they do not have a good description of the suspect.
