PORT ARTHUR, Texas — The body of the second of two missing men, who fell into the water Tuesday evening near the marina on Pleasure Island, has been found.
Both men were on the concrete barrier when one fell in and the other jumped in after him witnesses told 12News on Wednesday.
The men's names were released Friday morning by Jefferson County Precinct Two Justice of the Peace Joseph L. Guillory
The body of Bayardo Dublon, 37, of Port Arthur, was found at about 9 a.m., Friday, near one of the docks at the Pleasure Island Marina according to interim Port Arthur Fire Chief Antonio Mitchell.
Dublon's wife, Carmen and their children are still reeling from the sudden loss of Bayardo.
"My husband was a great man he loved fishing every weekend If we could go. He loved to BBQ even if it would be just us, but when others showed up he never sent them away he let everyone who'd come stay and eat," Carmen Dublon told 12News, "The kids are taking it hard. They miss him deeply, our home will not be the same without him. He's gone at such a young age."
The body of Hector Ortis Ismael Castro, 39, of Port Arthur, was found on Wednesday and pronounced dead by Judge Guillory II.
An autopsy has been ordered by Judge Guillory.
Witnesses at the scene told 12News that a group of four friends were hanging out at the parking lot next to Lakefront Pier when one of them sat on the concrete barrier next to, what a witness says, was a very high tide.
The witness says that one second the man was on the barrier, but was gone in the next. They said another man dove into the water afterwards to try and save his friend.
Neither man resurfaced and 911 was called.
Port Arthur police officers and firefighters as well as deputies with the marine unit and aviation unit of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the search.
A helicopter from the sheriff's office joined the search on Wednesday morning once the weather allowed it.
Jacobie Ignacio, the nephew of the still missing man, was on his way to tell his uncle he'd been accepted to college, when he heard the devastating news.
"He always wondered about that. Always motivated me. Not being able to tell him, hurts. Just getting home and seeing my mother in distress, it hit me like a truck, honestly," Ignacio said.
