SAN ANTONIO — A tire shop in the Poteet area was severely damaged in the storms moving through South Texas Monday.
Roca's #2 Tire Shop located at 9660 TX HWY 16 in Poteet collapsed during high winds around 11 a.m.
KENS 5 spoke with the previous owner of the tire shop. According to him, his nephew was inside when the weather was turning severe. Luckily, his nephew was able to run out of the building before the collapse. His family tells us he is doing ok.
His family described the weather as something similar to a tornado with big winds gusting.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association in New Braunfels reported severe strong winds in this area but they could not confirm any tornadic activity.
