CBS announces premiere date for 'Young Sheldon' spinoff show starring East Texas native

For seven years, Jordan portrayed the older brother of Sheldon Cooper, Georgie Cooper, in the coming-of-age sitcom, "Young Sheldon."

ORE CITY, Texas — CBS this week released photos and details about the premiere of the "Young Sheldon" spin-off series starring an East Texas native. 

Montana Jordan, who is from Ore City, will star as the lead in "Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage," alongside actress Emily Osment on CBS starting on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. 

For seven years, Jordan portrayed the older brother of Sheldon Cooper, Georgie Cooper, in the coming-of-age sitcom, "Young Sheldon." Earlier this year, CBS announced that Jordan would be one of the leads in the new half-hour comedy about Georgie and Mandy, the mother of Georgie's child, as they raise their young family in Texas.

The first episode titled “The 6:10 to Lubbock” showcases Georgie and Mandy getting fed up staying with her parents and they reconsider their living situation after a fight with Mandy’s mom, according to a description from CBS. 

The episode will be streaming on Paramount+ the day after (Friday, Oct. 18).
