SAN ANTONIO — A city councilman is calling for a northwest-side nightclub to be shut down after a string of violent incidents.

Manny Pelaez claims his office has been made aware of at least 70 calls for help this year regarding the Privat Social Club on UTSA Boulevard.

Most recently, police were called out last week when a man was shot and killed after a fight broke out.

In April, video also showed a woman slammed to the ground following a massive fight in the parking lot. The Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission told KENS 5 it's given at least three warnings to the club.

Palaez is now trying to get the club's liquor license revoked.

"You can't look at this situation and say, 'Well it was just some guys goofing off or some guys who were up to no good.' You can't say that because of the prevalence of incidents," he said.

No arrests have made in the recent shooting.
