8-year-old girl hospitalized after being hit by SCUCISD school bus

Officers responded to reports of a bus collision involving a pedestrian. To their surprise, that pedestrian was an 8-year-old girl.

SCHERTZ, Texas — An 8-year-old girl has been hospitalized after being struck by a Schertz Cibolo Universal City ISD school bus Friday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., officers with the Schertz Police Department responded to the intersection of Storm King and Black Butte after receiving reports of a school bus collision involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers identified the pedestrian as an 8-year-old girl who attends Sippel Elementary School.

The student was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are working with the district's transportation services to see how this incident occurred.
