Man arrested for making false report about robbing bank in Schertz which caused heavy police presence

Schertz police responded to the Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union located at 4980 FM 3009 after receiving reports of a possible robbery.

SCHERTZ, Texas — The Schertz Police Department responded to a bank after getting calls about a possible robbery taking place.

Around 3 p.m. Thursday, SPD responded to the Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union located at 4980 FM 3009 after receiving reports of a possible robbery.

When police got on the scene, they were able to evacuate the employees and customers but the suspect remained inside. After a short time, the suspect turned themselves in peacefully to police.

The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Jordan Larson and he reportedly did not have any weapons on him and no one was injured.

An investigation led authorities to believe that Larson did not intend on committing the actual act of robbery, but detectives said he "utilized language that prompted an emergency response."

Larson was taken to the Guadalupe County Jail and is facing a charge of making a false report.
