SAN ANTONIO — One person is dead after police say he was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross the street on the northwest side.
Law enforcement responded to the 8600 block of Huebner, near Babcock, just before 8 p.m. Police officials said an unidentified man, 78, had been hit by a truck while walking outside of a crosswalk area.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver did stop, police said, adding he "most likely will be released" after being questioned.
The investigation is ongoing, and police estimated the area would be closed until about 10 p.m.
