Road-rage shooting on west side lands woman in hospital, SAPD says

She was able to pull into a nearby business while calling 911, officials said.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after she was shot in an apparent road rage incident on the west side, San Antonio police say.

Authorities say the unidentified 29-year-old victim was passing another car that was traveling slowly in the left lane of State Highway 151 when an occupant in that other vehicle shot at hers, hitting the woman. The victim told police that the car she passed began tailgating her and honking their horn, and flashing their headlights before someone inside the vehicle fired off the shots at her.

It's unknown how many times she was struck.

She was able to get the license plate of the suspect vehicle before managing to drive into the parking lot of the Main Event near Highway 151 and Ingram to call 911.

Police were able to find the suspect with the help of Eagle.

SAPD Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and placed the suspect driver in custody. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition, with non-life-threatening injury.

This investigation remains ongoing.
