SAPD: Man shot in possible road-rage incident on northwest side

A person was detained at the scene, but police haven't yet said if they'll face charges.

SAN ANTONIO — Police say a man was able to drive himself to a northwest-side hospital after he was hit by gunfire in what might have been a road-rage incident.

One person has been detained but it's unknown if they'll face any charges.

San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officers responded shortly before 3 p.m. to the area of Loop 1604 and West Hausman, where a sergeant said multiple shots were fired in some kind of dispute between the drivers of a Tesla and a truck. It's unknown how the violence started or if the vehicles were in motion when the shots rang out, but the unidentified victim took himself to a local hospital.

That victim was dealing with "possibly life-threatening" injuries, the sergeant said, adding the information was preliminary and could change.
