SAN ANTONIO — One person is dead of gunshot wounds after an apparent shooting on the east side, authorities said, adding that another was also shot before his mom drove him from the area to get help.
The mom and her 16-year-old son made it to the area of East Houston and North Gevers after he was shot in the 4100 block of Interstate 10 East about three miles away. An officer said they saw an ambulance and flagged it down before the son was taken to a local hospital for "multiple gunshot wounds to the lower half of his body."
The other victim, Alijah James Booker, 19, was found dead in a driveway at the I-10 East scene, an apartment complex near Red Berry Estate. Police are still investigating what happened leading up to the gunfire, but no one is in custody as of now.
