SAN ANTONIO — A woman was jailed for less than a week in Kerr County before authorities say she died while in custody.

Jail records indicate Deanetta Vincent was booked March 9 on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. Officials with the Kerr County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) said she was found "unresponsive" in her cell around 12:40 p.m. Friday by corrections officers who "immediately began lifesaving measures." EMS arrived to take Vincent to a local hospital, where she died.

The official cause of her death is yet to be determined, and officials provided no other details about how she was found.

KCSO said Texas Rangers is leading the investigation.
