Around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office responded to the the Converse home after receiving reports of a dog bite to a three-year-old's face.

When officials arrived, BCSO said there were two dogs on the scene and the child's grandfather was on the road looking for the dogs with a gun, but put it away when advised by deputies to do so.

When the deputies made contact with the dogs, BCSO said they first used tasers but then shot around four bullets which ended up killing one of the dogs. The other reportedly escaped during the commotion.

The three-year-old was checked on the scene and BCSO said the mother will be taking the child to get a rabies check.
