SAN ANTONIO — Ramón Ayala announced the cancellation of his upcoming farewell "El Principio de un Final" tour, which was scheduled to stop at the Freeman Coliseum here in San Antonio on Oct. 4.
In a Spanish-language post to his Facebook page, the 78-year-old "El Rey del Acordeón" addressed his fans, saying
"Valued fans, businessmen and the general public, for reasons that are out of our hands, all of the previously announced shows are cancelled.
We regret the inconvenience, and at the same time, are working hard to re-schedule our "El Principio de un Final" 2024 tour.
We will make known the new venues and dates exclusively on our social media channels.
We appreciate in advance your understanding and we'll be seeing you soon."
He also said he and his band are working on a new tour that is set to begin at the end of 2024. New dates and venues are set to be released.
