SAN ANTONIO -- Judi Lukic wanted to be a foster mom, but when she was diagnosed with cancer she knew it wouldn't be fair for the children. That's when she decided to be a foster mom for Shih Tzu's.

Last September, Judi says she lost the power to fight cancer. That changed when Jacks came into her life.

He is my hope. He has made me fight when I did not want to fight, and I just did not care, said Lukic. He's the one that jumps on me when I'm laying on the couch and depressed. He's the one that sleeps with me on my head.

Tuesday afternoon Judi says someone snatched Jacks from her backyard.

She has several other Shih Tzu's, but Jacks was the one who made her smile and want to live.

Jacks' mother was rescued from a puppy mill and so Jacks was born at a rescue shelter in Houston. His story inspired Judi.

He came out of big odds and I wanted to show him that I could beat odds, too. said Lukic.

She is offering a $1,500 reward for Jacks' safe return.

Jacks has his very own Facebook page at Jumping Jacks Jackson. Anyone with information can call (210) 677-2357.
