The family of missing San Antonio man is searching for answers into his disappearance

Richard Reyna was last seen in August of 2023. Now his family is making a plea with the community to help them find answers.

SAN ANTONIO — A 59-year-old San Antonio man has been missing for nearly nine months. His family says they last spoke with him in August of 2023 and are hoping someone reading his story can give them some answers.

The family of Richard Reyna is making a plea to the community to help them find him.

"We love you, all of us love you, your nieces, nephews. All of us love you, all your brothers and sisters," said Rosalinda Casillas, Reyna's sister.

Reyna's family is desperately seeking answers into his disappearance. Casillas says in August of last year, Richard came to visit her, and they had an argument during which she said words she regrets.

"He told me, well you know what, I just won't come anymore. I told him, 'Ricky that's not what I'm saying,'" said Casillas.

That was the last time Casillas heard from her baby brother Richard.

Casillas says for most of his life he has struggled with mental health issues and alcoholism. She adds that he was getting by with the help of disability checks.

"Social Security stopped like after two months. So August, like September, October... because they didn't know where he was." said Casillas.

The family contacted police in January and they have searched, hospitals, mental health facilities, even the morgue but have come up empty handed.

Reyna's family fears something bad may have happened to him.

"We just want closure. We want closure on it, you know," said Casillas.

Casillas says even though they had an argument, he wouldn't go without contacting friends or other family members.

"Even if he was angry at me, you know, he would always talk to my brothers. He'd always call them from the daycare, you know come pick me up," said Casillas.

Casillas says before their parents passed, they told them that they would look out for him, so just knowing that he is okay would give them a little comfort in their hearts.

"Just come back to us or just notify somebody, and they can tell us that you're okay." said Casillas.

If you have any information into the whereabouts of Richard Reyna, you are urged to contact San Antonio police's Missing Person's Unit at 210-207-7660.
